Job description

Kepler is on an audacious mission: to bring the internet to space. Founded in 2015, our ambition is to provide internet connectivity in space, whether in LEO, MEO, GEO, or beyond. With an expanding base of early customers and our first 23 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow and expand its most important asset – the Team!

Kepler is looking for a Strategic Communications Intern to assist in integrated marketing and communications campaigns. This exciting role will collaborate on a wide range of marketing and communications verticals and will require strategic reasoning skills. Our ideal candidate will have advanced writing skills and an interest in gaining a deep understanding of Kepler’s innovative solutions for space communications. 

Responsibilities
  • Support for communications activities such as social media campaigns, analytics, subject matter research, written materials (blogs, newsletters, social posts, etc.,) award submissions, advertising, mailings, promotional items, and more.    
  • Collaborate on general marketing content using creative and strategic insight while adhering to all brand standards and marketing goals, while maintaining a focus on Kepler's mission. 
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and strategically turn them into relatable content that appeals to target stakeholders.    
  • Assist with external campaigns and initiatives while collaborating with marketing, leadership, business development, and other Kepler teams.  
  • Communications and marketing support for the People & Culture and Recruiting teams. 

  • Requirements
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective problem solving, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and complete projects in a timely manner.   
  • Strong desire to learn about space, defense, and communications. 
  • Proficient and effective skills promoting the brand on social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn 
  • Proficient with systems such as Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva to create graphics, social media posts, presentation materials, and other requested items. 

  • Bonus Points
  • Adobe Suite experience: Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects, or equivalent. 
  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics,LinkedIn Analytics, etc. 
  • Experience posting or writing on behalf of a brand or organization (Don’t hesitate to share your portfolio). 
  • Previous experience with telecommunications, technology (consumer electronics, SaaS, etc.) or similar companies. 
  • Additional languages. 
  • This can be a hybrid or remote position. If you are in the Toronto area, you will have the opportunity to work from our new office at 24 Ward Street, Toronto ON!
