Assistant Editor - Veritasium

Veritasium is a world-leading physics and science education YouTube channel. We craft high-quality, in depth videos for a curious, engaged audience that never stops asking the big questions..

We are seeking an Assistant Editor to join our remote production team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Youtube and science, experience edit assisting across digital video content, and proficiency in video editing software.

The Assistant Editor will be reporting to the In house Editor and be responsible for supporting our in house and freelance editors.

• Manage and organise video footage, assets and archives


• Organising and labelling of rushes


• Synching Sound and Footage


• Timeline assembly edits at the start of an edit, and edits of video sections where appropriate


• Sourcing B-Roll footage


• Using tools to create transcripts or other reference files to accompany raw footage


• Work closely with the editors to support them with b roll footage and inserting graphics & replacing holders with final A-Roll


• Potential opportunities for bonus content edits


• Stay up-to-date with video editing software and techniques

• 1+ years of experience in edit assisting or junior editing, with an emphasis on digital content creation and experience with YouTube


• Proficiency in video editing software Adobe Premiere and the creative cloud


• A strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms


• A passion for physics and science; previous experience working with science material is desirable


• Good attention to detail and ability to multitask

As we are an entirely remote, global team with no central office, we welcome applicants from all over the world.
