Job description

ADTRAV Travel Management, founded in 1977, has over four decades of experience in managing corporate, government, vacation, group, meetings, and incentive travel programs across the United States. ADTRAV is seeking a Supplier Relations Representative to be responsible for sourcing and management of supplier contacts to secure sponsorship and funding for ADTRAV's supplier-related functions and activities for the FedRooms/DoD Preferred program.  This is a business development role in nature, and successful candidates will find and attract vendors and suppliers in the hotel industry and will be responsible for increasing the program adoption rate.   

The position is required to be in Birmingham, AL or within a 2-hour drive of our office. This position can work remotely but must be able to come into the office as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Work with Marketing and FedRooms/DoD Preferred program leadership and the Supplier Relations team to identify short-term and long-term objectives for suppliers for the FedRooms/DoD Preferred program, and outline approaches to achieving objectives. 
  • Create action plans to implement each program objective with detailed tasks and timelines. 
  • Track and report on each objective and indicator in established CRM and project management software. 
  • Increase FedRooms/DoD Preferred adoption rate through activities with suppliers. 
  • Build strong relationships with current ADTRAV partners and FedRooms/DoD Preferred participants to identify new potential partners for the FedRooms/DoD Preferred program.
  • Identify opportunities for the addition of value-added services and increased supplier sponsorship opportunities. 
  • Organize, prepare, and/or participate in supplier events/training seminars/council, as appropriate. 
  • Assist in creating, recommending, and implementing marketing programs and campaigns for FedRooms/DoD Preferred program. 
  • Collaborate with the creative team for brand standards and campaigns. 
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of trade shows, conferences, meetings, and events; work non-standard business hours during meetings and events.
  • Represent ADTRAV by embracing the company values and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and clients. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.  
  • Experience in sales/business development role and meeting established quotas. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to present to a variety of audience types and sizes. 
  • Strong negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, appropriate for communicating with internal and external audiences. 
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills for interpretation of data, trends, and opportunities. 
  • Problem solving skills encompassing the ability to listen, identify the root problem, present appropriate alternative solutions and determine the best solution using a systematic approach.
  • Able to work collaboratively with different departments and managers, and vendors, to execute department objectives. 
  • Hands-on, highly organized and a strong team player.  
  • Analytic and decisive with ability to prioritize and communicate objectives.  
  • Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.  
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing both strategic and tactical responsibilities.  
  • Able to present a professional and positive demeanor with internal and external customers/clients and work cooperatively. 
  • Ability to work remotely and meet the company home-office requirements.  
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of company and client information. 
  • Able to work outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends, during company meetings and events.  
  • Able to travel up to 20%. 
  • Able to successfully pass a credit, criminal, and/or employment reference background check.
