Job description

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Client Partner / Business Development Director to drive growth and expansion for a key telecom account in Spain. In this role, you will primarily focus on business development, leveraging your extensive telecom industry experience to expand their footprint and drive strategic initiatives. This is a high-impact position for a proven leader who excels at account growth, relationship management, and hands-on engagement within the telecom sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development (Primary Focus):

  • Identify and lead new business opportunities within the client account, with a strong emphasis on building pipeline and securing long-term engagements.
  • Develop and execute strategic account growth plans, positioning our client as a trusted partner and leveraging their portfolio of services, including AI, automation, managed services, cloud solutions, NOC, contact center solutions, and IT.
  • Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle, from lead generation through contract negotiation and closure, with a focus on driving revenue growth and client satisfaction.
  • Work hands-on to develop proposals, respond to RFQs, and prepare competitive bids that align with client needs.

Account Management and Growth:

  • Manage the relationship with a telecom client in Spain, strengthening existing engagements while focusing on expansion opportunities.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the client’s business, competitive environment, and industry trends to identify growth initiatives, especially in OSS/BSS, network operations, customer experience, digital transformation, and IT solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong, senior-level relationships across client organizations, including C-suite relationship management with executive leaders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client challenges and proactively offering tailored solutions to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including delivery, solutions, and strategy, to ensure alignment on client goals and project outcomes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with multicultural teams, especially with teams based in India, to drive collaborative results.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee ongoing project delivery, ensuring high-quality results, adherence to timelines, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Implement account governance and reporting structures to maintain visibility on key initiatives and identify potential risks.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activities within the Spanish telecom market.
  • Provide market insights and feedback to internal teams to support strategic decision-making and solution development.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, account management, or growth within the telecoms sector, preferably in Spain.
  • Proven track record managing and significantly growing large accounts, with substantial experience in telecom solutions such as OSS/BSS, NOC, digital transformation, contact center solutions, and managed services.
  • Experience working with telecom operators in Spain or the broader European market is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong business development capabilities, with demonstrated success in building client pipelines, securing large engagements, and driving revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of the telecom industry, including network architecture, IT, enterprise solutions, and customer experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage C-suite relationships effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with proposal development, RFQ responses, and bid preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams, especially with teams based in India.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (additional European languages are a plus).
