Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:
  • Contract: Independent Contractor
  • Mon-Fri 9am-1pm AZ Time

Scope:

  • 20 hours per week, with potential to increase hours as the business grows

  • Remote work with flexible scheduling

  • Primarily focused on insurance authorizations, with potential expansion into medical billing tasks

  • Adherence to HIPAA compliance and data security protocols

Responsibilities:

  • Call insurance companies to obtain authorizations for medical procedures and treatments

  • Assist with medical billing tasks as needed

  • Provide administrative support for a behavioral health billing and credentialing business

  • Handle communication with insurance companies and healthcare providers

  • Support the onboarding and management of a new rehab home client

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance authorizations and billing information

Requirements:

  • Experience in healthcare administration, preferably in behavioral health or rehab settings

  • Familiarity with insurance authorization processes

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures (preferred but not required)

  • Proficiency in using computer software and databases
