Job description

This is a remote position.

A creative team is looking for a Story Producer to join a globally distributed group. In this role, you will lead audio, video, and art teams to adapt web comics into video/motion comics. Responsibilities include setting the creative direction, coordinating with art and video editors to upload and time comic panels, and working with audio supervisors to add music, sound effects, and voice performances. This role requires a strong storytelling sense and the ability to preserve the essence of the original work in a multimedia format. Ideal for a creative storyteller with project management skills who can collaborate across departments and meet deadlines.

- Establish the creative vision for adapting web comics into videos, overseeing the creative workflow across departments
- Review and format scripts for the platform, adding cues for multimedia elements like music, sound effects, and motion graphics
- Communicate the creative vision to art, audio, and video teams, managing their workflows and integrating their contributions into the story
- Oversee the upload of web comic panels into the story builder
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand the platform's technical features
- Develop processes to improve the efficiency and quality of multimedia adaptations
- Ensure quality by maintaining consistency in tone, pacing, and style across all adapted content

Requirements

Creatively Minded:

  • Possesses a strong storytelling instinct, with a natural knack for proper narrative structure, pacing, and flow
  • Demonstrates a keen sense of how sound, music, and visual effects can amplify the narrative and thematic elements of a story
  • Ideally possesses a particular passion for web comics or Webtoons, either as a creator or a fan

Adept with Creative Technologies:

  • Proficient in industry-standard creative software such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Clip Studio for photo and video editing
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools or platforms that aid in multimedia storytelling

Collaborative Mindset:

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and creative)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment

Fast Execution:

  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards

High Agency:

  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Comfortable with receiving and integrating feedback

Language Requirements: English Fluent
