Job Description

To positively influence the prescribing habits of ophthalmologists and opticians (ECPs) by embedding contrast theory spectacles as an accepted myopia management (MM) treatment and promoting engagement with SightGlass Vision (SGV) DOT spectacle lenses. Elevate the professional image and profile of SGV throughout China optical industry, including with key customers and partners. To support SightGlass Vision’s commercial partners in China to drive acceptance and prescribing of DOT technology. Implementation of the China Professional Affairs annual plan, in particular responsibilities relating to education and training on the contrast theory and myopia management.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with China Professional Affairs and Commercial teams, market commercial colleagues and key customers to develop and deliver differentiated training initiatives and programs to influence spectacle lens prescribing habits for myopia management and DOT lenses. These may be delivered face-to-face or virtually.
  • Create and deliver opportunities to enhance customer knowledge and SGV reputation through clinical presentations, training initiatives, events and ECP communication tools e.g. eLearning.
  • Support Associate Director Medical Affairs, Commercial Director and VP Clinical, Medical and Professional Affairs to support sales objectives in China.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships to influence key commercial, clinical and educational opinion leaders in partnership with commercial team.
  • Develop and implement plans to influence key professional bodies and associations in China.
  • Present science and education with impact and credibility at customer events. Collaborate with distributors and train the trainer events when required to meet business needs.
  • Create and deliver internal training support to local customers and distributors.
  • Support Professional Affairs strategy and annual business plans across China, taking ownership of myopia management responsibilities.
  • Responsibility for all procedures in accordance with quality management systems and internal policies, including but not limited to, the ad promo process.

Work Environment

Remote based with regular & extensive travel across China expected.

Represent the Company during evenings/weekend exhibitions and seminars as required.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of optical in-practice experience with testing eyes and dispensing spectacles. Orthokeratology contact lens fitting experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience of examining children’s eyes and communicating with parents and children.
  • Experience of writing clinical articles would be an advantage.
  • Competent designer and deliverer of training programs for multi-level audiences
  • Ability to use influence and network to capitalize on opportunities in Chinese optical market
  • Confidence to present clinical and technical information to large conference audiences


Education

  • Degree in Optometry
  • Bachelor degree in optometry or optical industry related field. Master degree or MBA is a plus
