The Desktop Security Engineer is a member of the Desktop Management team and responsible for the management, operations, and remediation of all vulnerabilities on IT hardware for Hub end users, both employees and contractors. The engineer is responsible for managing the ticket queues, working with contracted third-party vendors, working escalations to resolution, and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required, as there is a wide variety of IT hardware across the 500+ HUB offices.
MAJOR DUTIES: Vulnerability Mitigation
- Identify, monitor, and address any vulnerabilities in HUB International’s systems
- Maintain security engineering standards and best practices set forth by Security leadership
- Provide technical support in resolving security issues and responding to security incidents
- Monitor and analyze system logs to detect and respond to security risks
- Keep abreast of the latest security vulnerabilities and trends
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities
- Strong communication skills with tactical personnel and senior-level leadership
- Understanding of various methods to address vulnerabilities and maintain compliance
- Experience in evaluating and assessing a vulnerability severity level based on a variety of internal and external factors surrounding it
- Complex problem-solving skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong skills in developing efficient methods to address out-of-compliance or overdue vulnerabilities
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and collaboration skills incorporating the ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and risks and work with HUB stakeholders for resolution
- Possess shared vision and values that create culture of customer service, accountability, capability building
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years’ experience in Vulnerability Management reporting, tracking, metrics, and assessing results
- Experience in Windows and MacOS platforms
- Tanium experience a plus
Although hybrid to a local HUB office is desirable, this position is open to remote candidates.

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
