We currently have an opening for
Sr. 508 Compliance Document Reviewer in Communications. With a limited degree of supervision, the
Sr. Production Coordinator, is responsible for testing and quality control of digital documents to ensure content meets federal accessibility requirements. Significant responsibilities include providing assistance and advice on information and communication technology accessibility policies and help to ensure compliance with all required government standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Review digital documents and products, including PDFs and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
files, against Section 508 compliance standards to ensure content conforms to accessibility guidelines
and requirements; provide compliant files back to authors. Quickly and accurately pinpoint areas of noncompliance
in documents and suggest solutions to achieve compliance.
- Remediate content files as needed to include appropriate accessibility components, such as alternate text
(alt text), proper file names, link names and structure, tables, list format, heading styles, and other
established accessibility formatting guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with internal customers, production colleagues, and creative services to encourage
accessible authoring of content by sharing guidelines, best practices, and subject matter expertise.
- Ensure new documents and forms are prepared or finalized in accordance with Section 508 compliance
requirements.
- Keep current with federal, state, and other accessibility requirements and best practices and ensure
existing internal accessibility information is up-to-date. Contribute interpretation and understanding of
Section 508 of the Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related laws, regulations, policies, and
standards and how they apply to products and services.
- Utilize collaboration, communication, and time management skills while multi-tasking in a fast-paced
environment.

- Must be detail-oriented, highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new
technologies.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience, or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
- 3 or more years of experience providing 508 documentation remediation support for PDF and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) documents.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and accessibility testing
tools, such as CommonLook Global Access, color contrast checkers, and screen reading applications.
- Advanced knowledge of CommonLook Global Access is required.
- Solid knowledge of page layout and formatting, document production, and product deliverables.
- Strong aptitude in critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize a variety of projects in a
deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $52,000-$57,000.
