As an Assistant Store Team Leader, you will oversee Total Store operations with a focus on either the perishable departments or the center store areas such as, Inventory Flow, Receiving, and Shelf Edge, while promoting and instilling Joe V's Smart Shop culture of People, Inventory, Process, and Expense Control Store-wide.

What is the work?
Management:
- Majority of the time spent using independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions including but not limited to product and department related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding or otherwise engage in resolving Partner-related matters
- Manages people, staffing, and training for area of focus
- Monitors morning paperwork; identifies and follows up on opportunities / issues
- Manages Operational Review Team (ORT)-related audits and findings
- Performs and promotes Joe Walks in area of focus
- Maintains work instructions for area of focus
- Monitors and reports on inventory estimates and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) accounting
- Maintains and promotes QA standards and adherence Store-wide
- Performs Common Area and Loss Prevention (LP) walks
- Ensures accountability and compliance related to Loss Prevention, keys, and alarm codes
- Supports Leadership and Department teams with a total store mindset

Sales / Strategy:
- Manages operations in area of focus; monitors craftsmanship, shrink, safety, and quality assurance
- Creates actionable plans and follows up on 'What Ifs'
- Serves as the Brand Promise Champion

Customer Service:
- Focuses on Partner / customer relationships, collaboration, communication, and education
- Models / cultivates superior customer service across Store departments
- Identifies and assists in building talent
- Models / promotes active engagement with the Community

What is your background?
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Extensive operational management experience; and/or at least 1 year of leadership experience, OR
- Experience as an H-E-B Store Leader
- Completion of H-E-B's or JVSS's Leadership Training Program
- Leadership skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including a minimum of 3 closing night shifts per work week

What training is required?
- Successful completion of JVSS Leadership Training Program or School of Retail Leadership (SORL)
