Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Country Manager, the Senior Brand Manager will oversee the fragrance portfolio and will fully manage brand performance, overseeing P&L, budgets and product development, blending the business and technical skills to drive innovative offerings. This role involves leading sales and marketing strategies and implementing brand activations within Taiwan to build brand awareness.
Success requires expertise in consumer marketing and a deep understanding of Taiwan's media landscape, along with a sensitivity to the beauty industry. An entrepreneurial spirit and strong business acumen will be essential in fostering relationships with press, influencers, and internal teams.
Key Accountabilities:
Marketing
- Actively plan and implement creative marketing initiatives to grow brand market share and awareness.
- Ensure all marketing activities align with brand image and quality standards.
- Constantly enhance brand representation through effective visual merchandising that reflects the image and spirit of the respective brands.
- Establish strong relationships with the Principals, Departmental Stores, Perfumeries, and ensure that all operational needs are met.
- Develop and execute cost-effective advertising and PR strategies to maximize brand exposure.
- Develop local media and creative campaigns for the brands.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with appointed advertising agencies, media partners and suppliers.
- Oversee the production of point-of-sale materials, packaging, and brand stationery, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
Sales Operations
- Achieve departmental store and overall sales targets as committed.
- Negotiate favorable in-store promotional spaces and activities with store owners.
- Effectively communicate marketing initiatives to the sales team and manage all required logistics.
- Hold regular meetings with the sales team to review their performance and maintain motivation levels.
- Engage and motivate distribution channels through joint programs, incentives, and sales ideas, (etc. ensuring a preferred vendor status)
- Accurately forecast inventory needs, including selling stock, testers, POS materials, and samples for each promotion.
- Monitor brand sales performance and adjust plan the purchases accordingly, minimizing slow-moving merchandise.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to maximize sales and ensure effective distribution that aligns with demand.
- Promptly address slow-moving or stagnant inventory, aiming to limit stock holding for fragrance brands to 60 days.
Sales, Finance, and P&L Management
- Develop and set annual sales targets and strategic plans for each brand, securing Management approval before the start of the financial year.
- Ensure achievement of the approved sales targets.
- Establish and manage operating and expense budgets for all brands, ensuring adherence, particularly to A&P budgets.
- Optimize brand management and operational costs to maximize profitability.
- Maintain the budgeted product contribution for each brand.
- Prepare both internal and principal budgets in alignment with company and brand directions, ensuring product contribution considerations are met.
Management Reporting
- Deliver timely, accurate, and regular business progress reports to the GM/BM.
- Provide up-to-date, accurate insights on market trends and competitor activities to support informed decision-making and business development.
Others
- Adapt productively to changes and manage additional essential tasks as assigned.
- Serve as the primary service contact for designated trade partners, ensuring optimal store efficiency in terms of returns per square foot through brand and corporate promotions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 8 to 10 years of comprehensive sales & brand management experience within the FMCG/Retail industry with minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to develop and execute trade strategies while building collaborative relationships with retailers to optimize resource utilization.
- Strong coordination skills to effectively liaise among marketing, sales, and retail partners for seamless operations.
- Expertise in establishing and implementing brand promotion strategies to maintain a competitive edge in all distribution.
- Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and presenting accurate sales reports for special events.
