Job description

Department Overview:

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the Chair or Vice-Chair in furtherance of OHSU’s missions of Healing, Teaching and Discovery.

 

The position will have various weighted responsibilities of clinical FTE, academic FTE, research FTE and administrative FTE totaling 1.0 FTE in alignment with the SoM Compensation Plan. The roles, weighting and responsibilities will be at the discretion of the Department's Chair.

Function/Duties of Position:

This position is under the supervision of Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine and align with the missions, goals, and objectives of the School of Medicine:

  • Practicing medicine as an employee of OHSU at OHSU Hospitals and Clinics (collectively, “Hospital” and, except as otherwise provided in this paragraph 7 of the “Clinician Employment Agreement,” not otherwise), OHSU-affiliates, the Portland VA Medical Center, and community sites
    i. Maintaining licensure to practice medicine in the state of Oregon and any other jurisdiction where licensure is necessary in order for a Clinician to perform the professional services contemplated hereunder and to maintain medical staff privileges at the Hospital
    ii. Participating in site-specific tumor boards and multidisciplinary clinics
    iii. Contributing to departmental quality meetings, i.e. chart rounds, M&M, and others
  • Educating medical students, residents, medical technologists, and physicists in accordance with the educational mission of the department
  • Working towards making significant contributions to the science and understanding of radiation oncology and biology.
  • Serving the Department, OHSU, and our specialty through committees, councils and leadership
  • Demonstrating a commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Mentoring students, residents and colleagues
  • Complying with the bylaws, resolutions, policies and standards of OHSU and the SoM in effect and as may be amended from time to time, including without limitation:
    i. any compliance program or policy,
    ii. the OHSU Patient Care policy,
    iii. the OHSU Code of Conduct policy,
    iv. the OHSU Conflict of Interest policies,
    v. all policies and requirements regarding the preparation and maintenance of medical records and the billing for patient services, and
    vi. OHSU Policy No. 03-30-060
    vii. any additional terms and conditions of employment specifically contained in Exhibit A of the “Clinical Terms and Conditions” agreement
Required Qualifications:
  • Maintaining certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology is one of the prerequisites for extension of this appointment beyond one year.
  • MD
  • Maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon
  • Maintain credentialing requirements at OHSU
