Job description

About Faire

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.

By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About this role

We are looking for a Compensation Partner to help develop and execute our compensation programs to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with Faire’s strategy. This role will serve as both a valuable partner to business leaders and HR Business Partners while also having an opportunity to support the analysis, design, and implementation of our various compensation initiatives.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as a resource for our HR Business Partners, recruiting teams, and business leaders to provide guidance on all compensation matters.
  • Advise on compensation for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Drive medium to large scale projects end-to-end including our bi-annual compensation cycles, benchmarking exercises, and other net new projects.
  • Analyze compensation data to create actionable insights, drive business decisions, and improve our overall compensation programs.
  • Support the design and delivery of education and training for leadership, managers, and employees.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, legal requirements, and market dynamics to ensure compliance and relevance of compensation programs.
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Legal, and the broader People team.
  • Support the design, change management, and communication efforts associated with our compensation programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and administration of compensation programs; serving in a business-facing compensation partner role is a plus
  • Ability to build strong partnerships at all levels, including executive, and to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner across a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced experience in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of equity vehicles including stock options, RSUs, and other equity offerings.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding compensation.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple assignments in a timely and flexible manner.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Salary Range

New York City: the pay range for this role is $142,000 to $195,500 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Faire employees will be expected to go into the office 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective the week of January 13, 2025. Additionally, in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.

Applications for this position will be accepted for a minimum of 30 days from the posting date.
