Job description

About the Company

Hi, we're Ondo Finance. Our mission is to provide institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds.

We were the first company to tokenize exposure to US Treasuries, and have since expanded into several other assets. We are also focused on incubating protocols that can support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional crypto.

Founded by folks from Goldman Sachs Digital Assets team, we’re backed by some of the best investors in the world including Founders Fund, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, Tiger Global, and more. We are industry leaders in terms of AUM and well capitalized to continue growing the firm. We're fully remote, with team members across the U.S.

Ondo is next looking to hire a Director of Business Operations..

Target outcomes

•Strong Organizational Alignment. Organizational, departmental, and team level objectives and initiatives are rationalized and aligned with each other; employees throughout the organization understand the highest-level objectives and how what they are working on fits into that; members of the team are aware of what’s going on throughout the organization; roles, responsibilities, and priorities are clear for each member of the team; lagging projects and resource constraints are identified; senior leadership is able to easily keep abreast of what’s going on; as an organization we are effective in planning the resources (time, money, and people) needed to achieve its objectives; KPIs and invalidation criteria are consistently set and measured against, as appropriate; employees and senior leadership agree that that we have strong organizational alignment and effective execution and learning.

•Well-Functioning Cross-Functional Communication & Decision Making Architecture. The right people have the right information and the right time at the right level of detail needed to make the necessary decisions and / or provide the necessary input. People know where (or to whom) to go for what information and where / with whom to share/store such information (including which systems like Slack, Notion, Dropbox, Email, etc.) and, within such systems, where (e.g which slack channel for what information; how should slack channels be named, etc. Good data and communication hygiene is maintained across systems. Who can / should make various types of decisions and who should provide input before such decisions are made are clear. Decisions are made with speed appropriate to the nature the decision required. For appropriately big, complex, or important decisions, we are able to record and track them, including their quality and throughput. People do not need to re-ask and re-teach the same thing multiple times. Clear processes and responsibilities are given to ensure that key pieces of information/knowledge are regularly updated and/or remain up-to-date. KPIs around knowledge/information availability, quality, accuracy, and time to get, as well as decision speed, quality, etc, are implemented, tracked, and are regularly improving). As appropriate, AI capabilities are built out and used to make these processes better.

•Key General Business Processes Run Smoothly. Core business processes across general business functions (e.g. finance, HR, talent management, company-wide meetings, etc.) as well as Ondo-specific business processes (e.g. RAPIDs, Issue Logs, etc.) are well-defined and clear, with the appropriate level of structure, complexity, and robustness for the business context; people understand and follow the processes; the level of data collected in sufficient and structured enough to enable appropriate levels of monitoring and analytics. Data hygiene and throughput in these processes is sufficient and error levels are low. Such process enable appropriately scalability while maintaining sufficient levels of security and compliance.

•Cross-Functional Processes Run Smoothly. Cross-functional processes (e.g. A/R that might involve both sales and finance; new partner chain integrations, which may involve sales, engineering, and marketing, etc.) are well-defined and clear, with the appropriate level of structure, complexity, and robustness for the business context; people understand and follow the processes; the level of data collected in sufficient and structured enough to enable appropriate levels of monitoring and analytics. Data hygiene and throughput in these processes is sufficient and error levels are low. Such process enable appropriately scalability while maintaining sufficient levels of security and compliance. Such process work well for all stakeholders.

•Data-Driven Decision Making. All general business and cross-functional processes are designed to intelligently collect data that’s used to both monitor and improve those and other processes and inform changes to our business operations and strategy. Key analytics and business intelligence dashboards and insights are regularly shared with the team and engaged upon. Functional leaders and teams begin to appreciate and use data to inform their decisions and operations more regularly. AI is incorporated as appropriate to better extract data and insights.

•Enhanced Corporate Agility & Competitiveness Due to Business Operations. As a result of the above outcomes and more, we are able to aggressively scale, expand, and/or pivot our business with a minimum of confusion, friction, or loss of quality or throughput.

Representative Responsibilities

•Run, Coordinate, and Evolve our OKR Process. Work with the executive team to understand the high-level objectives and help organize them into a framework. Issue Logs are a tool for recording issues / problems as they arise, tracing them to root causes, and implementing root-cause improvements. For both processes, create and ensure employees understand and abide by when and how to use them; ensure they flow through the agreed-upon processes, with clearly-assigned responsibilities and follow through, and ensure that nothing gets ‘stuck’ in the process for too long. As appropriate, track and monitor analytics to gain and share insights. As appropriate, generate and contribute substantively to relevant RAPIDs and Issue Logs.

•Act as a “Model Employee” Across Your Areas of Responsibility. Consistently model good behavior by following the processes and policies you set out, ensuring good data hygiene and follow through.

Be constantly mindful of building processes and systems that give us the data we will need to gain deeper insights in the future.

•Draft Periodic Internal Company Updates. Regularly use the information cleaned from all the various processes and information systems to summarize what’s going on in the organization and, over time, make connections and generate insights and suggestions that other, less cross-functional roles might not make.
