Overview
Corporate Bank Technology is working on a multi-year technology refresh program that includes re-platforming applications allowing payment initiation. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for adding functionality to a global payment initiation platform that has React based micro frontends backed by Java powered micro-services deployed in a containerized environment. The platform uses varied datastores such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB, you’ll collaborate with other Lead Engineers, UX Designers, Senior Engineers and Analysts on the platform embracing agile practices to incrementally enrich the platform with new features with a sharp focus on automation. You will partner with business and technology managers to define modules and enhancements to the application stack that provides Deutsche Bank's institutional clients ability to initiate payments in real time and access to their account balances & statements in near real time. What You’ll Do
- Accountable for engineering and leading a function in Corporate Bank Technology
- Deliver state of the art solutions and be a hands-on technologist
- Implement leading technology advancements in the industry
- Maintain hygiene, risk, control, and stability at the core of every delivery
- Manage the software development life cycle (SDLC) of software components all the way to production, including helping support the application to resolve production issues with appropriate triaging
- Partner with user Interface(UI) Design Team, Architects, Business Analysts, and Stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones; at varying capacity to understand requirements
How You’ll Lead
- Lead the delivery of components & features in an Agile pod, actively engaging in design sessions with the global product, UX Design Team while also partnering with the other engineers on code reviews and pair programming sessions
- As a lead user Interface(UI) engineer, you will also partner with the UX team, product team, enterprise infrastructure architects and engineers in test to optimize the solution delivery by ensuring Cyber Security principles are employed and are integrated within the approved control frameworks
- Partner with enterprise risk team and production services to ensure continuous adherence to technology policies including technology roadmap compliance
Skills You’ll Need
- Extensive experience with React JS based frontend development
- Extensive frontend development using TypeScript, CSS, and Node.JS
- Relevant experience with state management solutions such as Redux or Recoil and Single-page applications
- Relevant full-stack experience in developing Java based Microservices in a cloud based environment especially with demonstrable use of Kubernetes, Docker, GIT, and build tools such as Maven, Bazel and/or Gradle
- Experience designing and evolving RESTful Application Programming interface.
Skills That Will Help You Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of best practices, software architecture and design principles
- Full understanding of SDLC lifecycle for software delivery including engaging with production support personnel for defect triaging and resolution
- Experience with Splunk/Structured Query Language for data analysis
- Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in the field of computer science and/or technology
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
