Job description

Overview:

The Manager, DevOps Infrastructure Manager will lead the design and implementation of DevOps practices on the Azure platform, driving automation, deployment, and integration across the organization. This role involves both strategic and tactical responsibilities, from setting team goals to ensuring best practices in automation, security, and performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD, and extensive hands-on experience with Azure services and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Development:
Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing DevOps team. Set objectives, review performance, and foster a positive, collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • DevOps Strategy & Roadmap:
Define and drive the DevOps strategy, developing a roadmap that aligns with organizational goals and optimizes deployment frequency, automation, and reliability. Continuously evaluate and implement best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Architect and Implement Azure DevOps Solutions:
Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and resilient DevOps infrastructure in Azure. Develop and implement strategies for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Enable Continuous Integration & Deployment:
Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and release of applications and services across multiple environments. Integrate various DevOps tools and practices within the Azure ecosystem to streamline and standardize processes.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Use tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep to define infrastructure in code, ensuring repeatability and version control. Implement IaC practices that align with compliance and security requirements.
  • Automation and Orchestration:
Drive automation across the SDLC, including build, test, deployment, and configuration management. Identify and resolve automation gaps and inefficiencies, continually improving the CI/CD process.
  • Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and vulnerability assessments, in line with industry standards (ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA). Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitoring and Optimization:
Design and implement monitoring and logging frameworks using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other tools to ensure system performance, security, and reliability. Optimize costs and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship:
Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to foster a collaborative DevOps culture. Mentor junior DevOps engineers and guide them in best practices for Azure DevOps, automation, and cloud architecture.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks. Share knowledge and best practices through workshops, training, and ongoing support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps and cloud architecture, with 3+ years in a managerial or team lead capacity.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
  • Strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Solid experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Azure Solutions Architect or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Experience in financial services or healthcare, ensuring security and compliance with regulations like PCI and HIPAA.
