Job description

Overview:
If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking Legal Assistant.

What you’d be doing:
Corporate Governance:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining corporate records, including board resolutions, meeting minutes, and other governance documents.
  • Support the organization of board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct legal research on corporate governance matters and provide recommendations to senior legal staff.

Contracts:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contracts database and ensure timely renewals and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct legal research on contract law issues and provide summaries to the legal team.
  • Support the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures.

Corporate Compliance:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of corporate compliance programs.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on changes in compliance regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare compliance training materials and assist in conducting training sessions for employees.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Current law student or recent law school graduate.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, contract law, and corporate compliance.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Previous experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
