SUMMARY:
As the Director, Marketplace Insights & Operations, you will be responsible for generating insights and implementing initiatives that will accelerate our product expansion and directly impact our NDR. You will lead initiatives to maximize revenues of our Marketplace products and will be responsible for supporting Marketplace Lead-Gen activities, Expansion plan, KPIs, and maximizing product adoption. This role is responsible for overseeing team projects and deliverables while driving cross-functional alignment to ensure smooth implementation by the respective divisions (Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product etc).
Placer’s “Marketplace” or “App Exchange” is Placer’s upsell engine, a core growth engine and component of Placer’s business, through which Placer incorporates additional data sets, advanced solutions, delivery mechanisms, integrations to other platforms and consulting services as additional sales offerings to its customer base.
As you join Placer, you will manage a team of two - a Data Analyst and a Senior Strategy Associate, and will continue to build the team under the guidance of the Company’s COO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own Marketplace KPIs and set quarterly goals, in alignment with stakeholders.
- Underwrite a bottom-up Marketplace revenue plan and track performance against plan by analyzing deviations, identifying key areas for ARR gaps / risks / upside, & helping course correct.
- Drive the operationalization of Marketplace goals and provide insights to maximize marketplace sales, such as: making GTM recommendations to improve the attach rate by product/segment/vertical, creating a feedback loop w/ Marketplace team & Product, supporting & guiding Marketplace leadgen activities across channels including BDR planning (headcount, priorities, calendars), supporting the Account Planning process by assessing the Marketplace TAM by account, etc.
- Drive “deep dives” into Marketplace apps, including qualitative research, closed-lost analyses, etc. to uncover gaps and opportunities.
- Minimize asset churn risk and maximize Marketplace product adoption through defining healthy usage by Marketplace App and monitoring, building dashboards, processes and automation for catching early issues.
- Support Product by quantifying the expected ROI on potential new Marketplace apps/ new apps features.
REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, in Economics, Business, or a similar quantitative business degree with strong academic achievement is a must. Masters Degree or MBA preferred but not required
- 8+ years minimum in highly analytical roles, with a first foundational experience in Management Consulting/ Investment Banking/Private Equity required, followed by a high-impact BizOps/Strategy/ Special Projects role at a tech company or startup
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail is a must
- Demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, turn qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights, develop solutions, and lead successful implementation
- Excellent presentation skills, with a track record in designing compelling presentations for senior leadership that help drive cross-functional alignment
- Strong change management and project management skills, with a track record of getting strategic cross-functional projects over the finish line in tight timelines
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership; capable of seeking information, solving complex problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations
- Expert knowledge of Excel/Google Sheet and PowerPoint/Google Slides
- B2B SaaS or B2B Marketplaces experience a plus
- Product Strategy or market research experience a plus

The U.S. annualized pay range for this position is $175,000-$225,000 USD. In addition, certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales-based commissions. Base pay offered within the stated range may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related skills, professional experience, education and licenses (if applicable), work location and compensation market data.
