Your impact 

Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a critical role in teaching ~25-30 learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One’s virtual Software Tester training program. The TA commitment for our program will be for the duration of 20 weeks. TAs will be expected to support synchronous sessions as well as provide asynchronous support to learners to ensure their comprehension and learning.

Program Specific Information

First lecture: February 17, 2025

Lecture cadence: Weekly on Mondays & Wednesdays from 18:00- 21:00 CET// 17:00- 20:00 GMT

Program finale: July 2, 2025 (end of responsibilities)

Expectations during live (synchronous) sessions:

  • Attend and proactively engage in the mandatory Pre-Program TA Onboarding. Dates and times will be announced. 
  • Monitor appropriate Slack channels (#c1-TA, #live-chat, #extra-help, and other relevant channels) for Learner questions and answer them promptly. 
  • Check-in with Learners after each live session by asking how they’re feeling about the content, if they have any questions, or if there is anything that they need further clarity.
  • Facilitate breakout rooms during lecture time, when applicable.
  • Assist in keeping the session progressing should the Lead Instructor experience technical difficulty or is otherwise unable to deliver the lecture.

Expectations during days of no live sessions: 

  • Monitor appropriate Slack channels for Learner questions and answer them within 24 hours. 
  • Foster discussion by posing questions of your own and sharing relevant links in the #resources channel or in other appropriate Slack channels.
  • Use the #c1-TA channel to share any important information during a lecture that needs the attention of Correlation One staff or fellow Expert Network staff. 
  • Review content materials (including lab, projects, extended cases, etc..) for the next lecture to ensure you are prepared to answer Learner questions.
  • Hold up to six (6) Individual Office Hours via Zoom with Learners in the program so they can ask any additional questions or get support as necessary.
  • Grade Learner submissions of exercises and projects within seven (7) days of submission. 
  • Support continuous program improvement by providing thoughtful feedback to Correlation One team via Weekly Write Ups.
  • Submit weekly write-ups summarizing the week’s accomplishments and challenges and provide insights on each Learner. This is due by Sunday at 8:00pm ET each week.
  • Attend and participate in the weekly staff meeting with Correlation One team and other Expert Network staff. 
  • Attend all scheduled meetings with your camera on, ensuring active engagement and professional presence. 

Who you are

  • As a Software Tester Teaching Assistant, you are a passionate advocate for education, possessing a strong foundation in software testing  practices and principles. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you thrive in supporting instructors and students alike in understanding complex software testing and deployment concepts. Your dedication to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest technology trends positions you as a valuable asset in preparing students for success.

Your expertise 

  • 1 year of experience in the software testing, SDET, or QA field (or another related field)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript, with hands-on experience in building test automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and testing practices (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, API testing).
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, or similar.
  • Certification in SDET or related areas (e.g., ISTQB, Agile Testing, AWS Certified Developer

  • This role is remote and can be located anywhere that is compatible with the CET/ GMT time zone. 

Compensation

  • The compensation range for this position is specific to location and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include (but are not limited to) location, experience, education and skill sets. You will be offered a base salary compensation + an additional hourly rate for office hours.
