Job description

*The employee hired into this role will be hired to work remotely in Memphis, TN, supporting the local school districts in the Memphis area and expected to meet in-person for monthly meetings.*

The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating program management activities for the STEMM Education and Outreach Programs focusing on grades 9 - 16 by performing tasks related to execution of the High School Research Immersion Program and other initiatives to include organizing and managing projects and events, faculty trainings, program analysis, and implementation of results that meet the goals/objectives of the department.

The Ideal Candidate for this Opportunity will have the following:

  • Passion working with high school and undergraduate students.

  • Comfort with public speaking in large events.

  • Teaching experience in high schools or university settings.

  • Science or STEMM background.

  • Project management, strategic planning, and strong organization skills.

  • Event planning and coordination.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer one or more programs or projects.

  • Define program or project requirements, identify interdependencies with internal or external departments or service providers, and coordinate to receive their input.

  • Develop communications regarding the program or project; Develop project plans and/or programmatic process.

  • Develop and track metrics, provide complex data analysis & interpretation and develop program related reports.

  • Make recommendations for program or process improvements by providing inputs for systemic changes to program or project management processes for better planning, scope management, and risk prevention.

  • Support the design and implementation of policies, process and procedures.

  • Develop process for execution of program initiatives.

  • Engage with program management teams internally and vendors externally for coordination.

  • May mentor less experienced team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.

  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelors degree required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: 3+ years of experience in program management delivery.

  • Significant experience working with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office).

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,720 - $126,880 per year for the role of Program Coordinator - STEMM Education and Outreach Programs.
