Innovative senior care center seeks Therapy Aide for in-center work

 

Full Time - York, Pa

 

Senior LIFE is an innovative home and community based Medicare and Medicaid funded program which provides all-inclusive healthcare services and support to seniors living in the community. Senior LIFE York seeks a Therapy Aide to join its team of therapeutic professionals. The Therapy Aide is an essential role within the center.  The Therapy Aide is responsible for assisting the rehabilatative services staff by transporting participants to and from therapy, by performing participant care related Activities under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist/Speech- Language Pathologist, by keeping the work area clean and well supplied and by performing clerical duties.

 

 

Responsibilities:
  • Transport participants as scheduled to and from treatment area as indicated.
  • Prepares participants for treatment.
  • Performs participant related activities as directed by the PT/OT/SLP  keeping with the standards of practice and state guidelines.
  • Assist with routine record keeping.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of treatment area following infection control guidelines.
  • Maintaining constant alertness for participants’ safety.

Qualifications:

Because of the nature of Senior LIFE’s multidisciplinary approach, all candidates must be able to thrive in team environments.

Experience working with a geriatric population is preferred but not required.
High school graduate or equivalent is required.  
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English is also required.

Adequate physical strength and manual dexterity is needed in order to transfer and transport participants.
