Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Systems, the Oracle Application and Database Administrator is responsible for managing/maintaining Oracle Application databases along with other technologies and applications. The job requires proficiency in installing, configurating, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, maintaining, performance tuning, providing on-call support and securing Oracle Applications and Databases along with proficiency in Linux, Oracle VM and SAN storage. The DBA will work together with developers ensuring smooth operation of production environments by deploying code, ensuring data integrity, handling backups and recovery tasks, and coordinating service requests with Oracle support. Excellent interpersonal as well as good verbal and written communication skills combined with ability to learn new technologies are essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities and duties:
  • Act as principal DBA of the Company’s Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) ERP
  •  Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Databases
  • Perform patching, cloning, and migration of Oracle Applications and Databases
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Oracle Applications and Databases
  • Develop, test, and deploy Linux shell scripts to invoke database calls and other integrations
  • Develop, test, and deploy scheduled jobs and shell scripts.
  • Enhance and maintain backup (RMAN) and recovery strategies
  • Ensure data security and integrity within the Oracle environment
  • Provide technical support and guidance to developers, system administrators, and other IT staff
  • Implement and enforce best practices for Oracle Applications and Databases administration
  • Stay updated on Oracle technologies and recommend improvements
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
  • Closely work with other IT groups on projects, remediations and incidents
  • Coordinate with hybrid onsite/offshore teams
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of proven hands-on work experience as an Oracle Apps DBA (R12.2.10) and Oracle Database Administrator (19c)
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Applications and its components including SQL packages, functions, and procedures
  • Experience with Oracle EBS modules like Financials, Supply Chain, HRMS, etc
  • Deep technical expertise and experience in Oracle Reports/BI Publisher/PLSQL/Forms Personalization/Workflow
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
