Job description

Job Description:

Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a Quality Auditor/Team Lead to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN

Assist in overseeing the daily operations of specialty and ambulatory coders in the provision of coding as it pertains to physician services for Baptist Health Medical Group. Function in a fully accountable role with respect to assisting in overall quality of the Ambulatory Coding Department. Works with Supervisor and Manager to problem solve missing charges, coding errors, codes for new services, missing documentation, denials and updates to computer systems.  Monitors and reports to the supervisor and regional coding manager coding accuracy, productivity and charge posting. 

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for answering day to day questions from coders regarding coding guidelines and standards

  • Acts as a mentor and provides oversight for the other coding personnel. 

  • Performs as a Trainer and Super User for the practice management system

  • Facilitates new hire training with Coding Auditor/Educators

  • Monitors Coding Workques Daily

  • Fulfills daily reporting requirements of volume and charge lag

  • Monitors coder quality and maintains communication with managers, supervisors, coding auditor/educators and Director as needed

  • Monitors denial trending and need for education

  • Maintains proficiency in knowledge of CCI edits and National and Local Coverage Determinations

  • Provides coding support to AR team related to claims follow-up

  • Liaison for practices when contact is needed

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required                   

  • Coding certification of either CPC or CCS-P required.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • A minimum of one year experience with Epic and/or other similar Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, required.

  • Ability to access CMS and FI coding references and guidelines.  Experience with electronic medical records and computer interfaces to coding and claim management.

  • 2+ years’ professional medical group coding experience

      

Preferred:

  • 1+ years in a supervisor position

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
