A Day in the Life
- The Sr. Business Development Manager will work closely with the field sales organization, RAQA, various associations across Canada & local and global Marketing teams. The goal is to raise awareness and increase the adoption of target growth products [initially RDN, EV-ICD and PFA (Pulse Select)] by developing commercialization plans, executing strategic field activities involving customer education, product messaging, product adoption, and Provincial reimbursement strategies.
- The Sr. BDM role will take the lead to assess, plan, and execute strategies for the targeted product lines. This person will focus on mapping out the clinical and referral pathway, Health Canada approval etc. for the products. The BDM role will also provide clinical and product expertise to our customers and will aggressively pursue new program opportunities in conjunction with other team members across Canada.
A Day in the life:
- Promotes and sells Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors and healthcare professionals.
- Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's products and/or services.
- Promotes and establishes education of the company's products and/or services.
- Conducts market research including customers and competitors activities.
- Implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
- Communicates customer feedback on new products and/or modifications to existing products or applications to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.
- Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)
- Lead, execute and support launch plans and creative marketing programs which demonstrate the value of Medtronic new technologies to customers, government agencies, and patients.
- Interpret and analyze data in local markets to rapidly develop adjunct strategies to respond to changing market dynamics.
- Participate in annual strategy planning process and implements business market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.
- Establish strong relationship, trust and credibility with Marketing team from the OUs and Americas region.
- Work with the Regional (Zone) Leaders and other Medtronic teams to understand, influence and develop patient referral and clinical pathways.
- Identify centers of excellence, grow and develop Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationship network in order to lead educational initiatives and participate in market research activities.
- Facilitate Peer to Peer functions.
- Participate in the Medtronic market assessment process (Patient Access Accelerator) to provide insights and recommendations on areas of investment.

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.
- 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree, or;
- Advanced degree.

- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with a bachelor’s degree, or;
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with an advanced degree.
- Experience selling value and differentiation to physicians teaching a new procedure and selling a new paradigm.
- Experience in developing new innovative markets, paradigm shifting and/or consultative selling. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills with specific skills in Microsoft Office: Power point, Excel, and Word
- Proficient in leading compelling product presentations to large and small groups
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
Skills/Competencies
- Ability to demonstrate Company products in hospital procedure rooms.
- Bilingual preference French/English

Physical Job Requirements
- Hospital and operating room sales environment with frequent* sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional* climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and balancing.
- Frequent* use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery and company products.
- Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Physical effort required by occasionally* handling objects up to 50 pounds* while in the field.
- Ability to move between departments and buildings to demonstrate Company products
- Ability to operate a Company vehicle and maintain a current drivers’ license.Position may require in excess of 30% travel time.
