IE University is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in Madrid.

Responsibilities:

Your role as a Junior Manager will involve: 

 

Retail & E-commerce Management:

  • Manage 3 physical retail locations and one e-commerce store.
  • Product Development & Alignment: Develop product catalogs and collections aligned with the institution’s values.
  • Retail Team Co- Management: Oversee hiring and training of e-store personnel, and manage daily operations of the retail team.
  • Product & Inventory Management: Oversee stock, product displays, store layout, UX, and product personalization/curation.
  • Customer Engagement & Community Building: Create campaigns, events, and promotions that strengthen engagement with current clients and attract potential buyers, ensuring an exceptional customer experience across all touchpoints, both online and offline.
  • Data-Driven Sales Strategy: Utilize sales and customer data to inform pricing strategies, product launches, and targeted marketing efforts.

Financial and Operational Management:

  • Oversee financial performance: create and monitor business plans, profit & loss statements (P&L), forecasts, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare reports and assist in the development of budgets and statistics.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal policies, distribution and improving supply conditions.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Manage the internal distribution web portal via WooCommerce, leading UX improvements and new functionalities.
  • Develop annual marketing campaigns in collaboration with various departments to maximize conversion and integrate into the student customer journey.
  • Organize and coordinate online and in-person events.
  • Foster collaborative dynamics between commercial departments, alumni, admissions, talent and careers, campus life, and more.
Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • At least 3 years in retail roles within this sector, with preferred leadership experience managing junior teams.
  • Strategic purchasing and product development management.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing, branding, and visual merchandising.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier management.
  • Experience developing sales strategies and digital marketing (e-commerce strongly suggested).
  • A creative professional with a strategic mindset, capable of thriving in dynamic, multifunctional environments.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and flexibility to work across multiple IE University campuses.
