Our client is a close-knit team with diverse backgrounds and perspectives—united by a shared passion for startups and technology. We are looking for a Principal, Finance & Operations to join us and play a pivotal role in driving our firm’s operational excellence.

The Role

Responsibilities

As the Principal, Finance & Operations, you will be responsible for managing the core financial, accounting, and operational functions of the firm. You will work closely with the General Partners to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency, driving the overall success of the firm. This is a high-impact role that interfaces with critical functions like fundraising & investor relations, investment, and portfolio management. It is a unique opportunity to influence the success of our firm and enable us to better serve our founders and investors. Your responsibilities will be to:

Lead financial strategy and operations

  • Take ownership of our client's day-to-day financial and accounting operations, including payroll, invoicing, capital activities, and other transactions, ensuring compliance with our client's mission and policies
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting and provide accurate financial projections and analysis to support the firm’s decision-making
  • Collaborate with relevant service providers on fund accounting, financial reporting, tax & regulatory filings, audits, etc., ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of these essential activities

Drive data management and reporting

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather and analyze critical fund-level and portfolio-company-level financial and operational data
  • Continuously refine data processes to support transparency and informed decision-making across the firm
  • Prepare and deliver financial statements and other reports for our client's investors and other stakeholders, providing critical insights on the firm’s activities and the impact of our investments

Champion compliance & risk management

  • Lead our compliance efforts, ensuring we meet investor commitments and adhere to internal policies and relevant regulations
  • Manage and refine effective policies and processes related to compliance and risk management (e.g. business continuity, cybersecurity and data protection, etc.)

Support key operations: Support other ad-hoc operational activities to contribute to the firm’s ongoing development.

Ideal Profile

  • You have at least 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within a venture capital or private equity environment
  • You have strong understanding of venture capital processes and practices including fund accounting, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance
  • You have hands-on experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and external reports
  • Familiarity with investor reporting and managing investor relations is highly valued.
  • You have excellent organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex priorities
  • You are self-directed with exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
  • You have outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • You are passionate about technology and innovation.
  • You are willing to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
