Accounting Manager

Location: West Coast, USA (Remote position but candidate must be physically located on the West Coast/PST, USA)

GridGain is currently looking for an Accounting Manager who will perform a wide variety of financial and accounting related tasks. Candidate should be self-motivated and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. This role requires strong analytical abilities and a foundational knowledge of accounting principles.  The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and must be a team player with a positive attitude and a desire to help the team be successful.


Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and prepare consolidated financial statements
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, GL functions, banking activities and cash management
  • Supervise accounts payable, ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, oversee departmental expenditures (through bill.com) and company credit card platform (Ramp)
  • Manage global payroll process, ensure timely processing, review, and approve payroll calculation, deductions, and journal entries for accuracy and compliance. Review employee expense reports and enforce corporate expense report policy
  • Liaison between 3rd party accounting firms and US head office as it relates to intercompany activities for 3+ subsidiaries
  • Review and analyze accounting schedules, GL entries, and financial information to verify completeness and accuracy. Investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Work closely with the external tax firm to support the preparation of federal, state, local and foreign tax filings. Exercise professionalism and accuracy in providing timely and accurate documents to the tax accountants
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis of the financial team
  • Improve systems, develop, and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
  • Active participation in the annual audits by the external auditors and annual bank due diligence
  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned
  • Assist in various ad-hoc projects as needed


Skills & Requirements:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of experience in financial and accounting work
  • CPA license strongly preferred
  • Advanced MS Office skills. Superior knowledge of Excel is a MUST!
  • Accounting Software (Intacct), and bill.com & Ramp
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Experience with intercompany transactions, consolidation, and elimination of subsidiaries
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and monthly close process
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate simply and effectively
  • Proactive and highly responsive
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments
