About our Team
We are a software engineering team within the Academic and Government division, which helps research institutions track and analyze their research data records.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer I, you will be working on the design, development and quality testing of the software development assignments for the Data Monitor web application. You will partner with cross-functional technical teams to deliver successful projects in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
- Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
- Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
- Train and mentor junior software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.
- Mentor less senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Overall Work Experience: 4+ Years
- 4- 5years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Profound knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Java, Spring, Spring boot, Microservices, Multithreading collections
- Proven experience and a good understanding of software engineering design principles and architecture
- Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
- A willingness to engage and communicate effectively with colleagues across various teams.
