JOB SUMMARY:

Sky Zone owns and operates popular indoor entertainment venues for all its members and guests. We’re a place where kids and parents can have fun, be active together, and spend hours jumping on trampolines, going down slides, or dunking a basket on one of our bouncy floors. The goal of the Construction Project Manager is to deliver completed projects on schedule while meeting development budgets and quality expectations. 

This is a work-from-home opportunity that requires 80% travel and is ideal position for someone with experience in construction project management, exceptional organization skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively and within budget. 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field. 
  • 3+ years of construction experience in ground up and conversions, with preference given to the restaurant, retail, or entertainment industries.   
  • Experience with managing multiple construction and expansion projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. 
  • Working knowledge of negotiating techniques, methods, and practices. 
  • Computer knowledge of Excel, Windows, and other design and development programs. 
  • Experience planning, scoping, and executing remodels, conversions, and renovations. 
  • Cross functional knowledge and management/leadership skills relative to due diligence and entitlement aspects of specific projects. 
  • Ability to maintain explicit communication with Operations throughout the duration of each individual project to ensure a successful turnover. 
  • Self-starter and must be able to work autonomously while managing competing priorities in a growing fast-paced environment. 
  • Skilled in process and project management. 
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills. 
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General 

  • Oversee, manage, and be the main point of contact for park development projects from conceptual planning through delivery and installation. 
  • Work closely with the Design and Park Operations teams to create the best layouts that maximize functionality and budget. 
  • Determine critical project milestones to ensure target completion dates are met. 
  • Mitigate risk through the planning process by anticipating and coming up with solutions for potential issues that can arise. 
  • Set-up, manage, and track project files including design iterations, costs, backlogs, risks, communications, reports, and respond to information requests. 
  • Complete and document site assessments for each project; complete and document project close outs making sure all files are archived and saved appropriately. 
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure parks are properly modified and prepared for incoming attractions, and that vendors are following our design and safety standards. 
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience through communicating project status with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Align with project stakeholders on scope, budget, and schedules throughout the development process. 
  • Troubleshoots with contractors, vendors, architects, and/or engineers throughout the project. 
  • Ensure project work at all levels meets the highest standards of workmanship based on industry and company standards. 

Cost Control 

  • Prepare and manage Project Cost Budget using form approved by Owner. Cost shall include all Owner consultants, vendors and contractors for all phases of the project. 
  • Process on behalf of Owner and consistent with provisions of Owner’s contracts with Architect and Contractor, respectively, changes in the Work as they occur and incorporate Owner approved changes into budget update. 
  • Process and manage all project invoices. 
  • Advise Owner of any deviation from the approved budget immediately upon discovery and in writing. 
  • Identify cost variances between actual, budgeted or estimated work. 

Scheduling 

  • Prepare and manage Project schedule using form approved by the Owner and Owners third party electronic Project tracking system. Schedule shall include all phases of the project starting with Lease /Land Purchase execution through construction completion. Monitor and consult with Owner on enforcement of the schedule as the Project progresses. Immediately identify variances between schedule and probable completion dates, and work to eliminate cause of any delay. 
  • Review schedule of work not started or incomplete and recommend to the Owner and contractors’ adjustments in the schedule to meet the completion date. Provide summary reports of each update and document all changes in the schedule on a monthly basis with the pay application submittal. 
  • Schedule and conduct regular progress meetings. 
  • Review all special or non-standard work or installation with the Owner, architect, and appropriate consultants to avoid any conflicts or delays in Project completion. 

Project Meetings 

  • Schedule, attend and coordinate progress meetings with Owner, general contractor, architect, and engineers as necessary to discuss such matters as project updates, procedures, progress, problems, and scheduling. 
  • Attending all scheduled Owner, Architect, Contractor meetings. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires the ability to move and position self appropriately during park and construction visits, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • This position requires the ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

Compensation range is $75-$85k + bonus based on qualifications, experience, and performance.  Full-time employees at Sky Zone enjoy a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401k plan with company matching.  Eligibility for 401k is based on age and tenure requirements.
