As a Senior BI Engineer, You Will:
- Craft and drive data solutions with executive stakeholders, providing alternate solutions on business KPIs and their measurement plans
- Drive data strategy with key stakeholders
- Build a reporting suite to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations
- Author robust and flexible data models that answer a wide variety of use cases and complex analytics
- Build data pipelines to support your data models and ensure data quality throughout processing, automation, and modeling
- Search and identify pathways for automation and data efficiency, closing gaps and leading initiatives to improve gaps
- Build monitors around data accuracy and consistency in Presentation Layer function and performance and pro-actively fix issues as found
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, re-designing existing reports for greater scalability, etc.
- Identify gaps in best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Provide technical design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, system, and technical support for BI initiatives
- Manage multiple complex projects, identifying dependencies and working on parallel tracks independently
- Mentor and train junior engineers on best practices
YOU:
- 7+ years of professional experience demonstrating career progression and increase complexity of work
- 5+ years of experience working in business intelligence, data analytics, data engineering or a similar role
- 5+ years of experience in building reporting and dashboarding solutions using tools such as Tableau, Sigma, Looker, Superset, PowerBI
- 3+ years required experience with dbt
- 1+ years experience in Looker and LookML, nice to have
- Expert in database fundamentals, SQL, and performance tuning
- Adept in solving business problems and curating data to drive executive decisions
- Expert in creating dashboards that invite data exploration and conform to data visualization best practices
- Accomplished in data modeling and building processes to support data accuracy and consistency
- Experience working with and expert with at least one of Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and/or other DBMS platforms
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams
- Proven record of using data to solve for complex use cases, independently authoring models around predictive analyses or process optimization
