Job description

  • Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) provides health insurance options to Samaritan employees, community employers, and Medicare and Medicaid members. SHP operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunityHealth Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services’ self-funded employee health benefit plan.

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
  • Provides support for data-related initiatives, including business requirements gathering, software development and data integration and reporting. Acts as an interface to the IS Infrastructure, internal business owners, external stakeholders and regulatory agency for Health Plan related systems. Leads, and in collaboration with Health Plans Information Systems and Clinical Analytics team, performs complex business analysis, data analytics, modeling and reporting of various data. Primarily responsible for the oversight of the Health Plans' Data Management and reporting initiatives which include data vision and strategy, data ownership and governance, business intelligence, technical specifications, data locations, data access and provisioning. Advances and ensures the success of an enterprise-wide data, platforms and reporting strategy to enable business transformation, monitoring and reporting. Oversees platform and application solutions and performance to provide data analytics, and reports are delivered both internally and externally to ensure a high level of integrity in reporting and deliverables.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) years experience in IT programs and/or project management required.
  • Five (5) years experience in a health-related field required.
  • Two (2) years experience in data modeling, informatics, and analysis with demonstrated capacity to independently draw inferences and communicate findings required.
  • Health insurance industry leadership experience preferred.
  • Program and project management experience preferred.
  • Epic and/or EHR experience preferred.
