You will utilize your Revit, BIM and construction knowledge for the creation of high-quality documents our brand is known for which leads us to repeat clients.
This position involves: prototypical construction documentation; technical design; execution of prototype management schedules & processes; coordination with other professional disciplines in-house and out-of-house; and this person must have the ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
This role requires a REVIT savvy engineer which is the platform used for documentation and BIM development. Candidate will draft and design mechanical and plumbing systems for use in multi-site programs and prototype updates.
Job Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To
- Have the ability to lead a client/client team (1-5 staff), small to medium projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in HVAC design, plumbing design and energy codes; as well as solve most design challenges that arise on a project.
- Should have good understanding of energy codes and their impact on building design. Engineers should have a good understanding of Trane Trace, including some knowledge of energy analysis.
- Can work in an independent manner on several project and/or client types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
- Should have good understanding of simple HVAC systems and a basic understanding of most HVAC systems and controls.
- Can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.
- Ability to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to most project types, with minimal oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
- Have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and be able to apply throughout the design process.
- Have good understanding of energy codes and how they affect design decisions in a project.
- Abiltiy to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects.
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Be proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to HVAC design, plumbing design, or other national standards.
- Will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions.
- Will be able to perform a high level of quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
- Will have direct client contact.
- Engineer will establish project budgets, with the approval of Mechanical Team Lead, and work with Team Lead to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
- Engineer will be licensed in less than 5 states.
- Ability to write specifications for most project types.
- Ability to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects.
