JOB TITLE:  Design Engineer

RATE: PHP 50k per month

Work Type: Full-time, Remote/WFH

Working Hours: 8 am to 4 pm EST
Start Date: TBD


Description

The Design Engineer will plan and direct activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers for the shipment of component parts.  The design process includes: analyzing physical characteristics of component parts to determine optimal container design, working with customers to determine any quality or ergonomic requirements, and incorporating cost-efficiencies that maximize value and deliver customer requirements.  

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop 3D models, sketches, specifications, samples, and written analysis of proposed packaging in order to present to customers for design approval.

  • Review proposed packaging for conformity to guidelines that optimize:  safety, ergonomics, part quality protection, density of shipments, manufacturing feasibility, stacking integrity, and minimize overall product costs.

  • Create technical drawing packages utilized in purchasing and production departments to acquire materials and manufacture

  • Create a quality checklist covering critical drawing specifications to be used in production

  • Coordinate with shop floor personnel to get prototypes developed and built. 

  • Design, verify, and track new packing technology.

  • Other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) – preferred but not required. 

  • Prior manufacturing-related management or analysis experience – preferred but not required.

  • Ability to read blueprints and use quality control tools

  • Efficiency required on CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal.

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.

  • Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively identify and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
