Job Summary

This position’s primary responsibility is to support tax team efforts across various special projects, including but not limited to: due diligence and integration for business development led projects, legal entity rationalization, international tax planning projects, cash tax and ETR optimization efforts, and others. This position may also have involvement in supporting the US international and transaction-based aspects of quarterly and annual tax provisions and tax return by assisting with data collection and reporting. Candidate is intended to act as a liaison between ZB Tax and key cross functional stakeholders to effectively manage and execute on due diligence and integration efforts, helping to ensure seamless transition between pre-and-post-close phases of business development projects. This position will report directly to the Tax Associate Director, but works closely with tax, accounting, treasury, legal, and other cross-functional personnel globally.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Manages execution tasks associated with a dynamic tax structuring plan including summarizing, communicating, and tracking cross functional action items and responses identified during the development of tax planning strategies. Stays current with respect to U.S. international and foreign tax law changes and tax alerts.
  • Participates in various tax planning and tax administration projects assisting in coordinating efforts across all relevant stakeholders and acting as a project manager.
  • Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data relevant to and necessary for the evaluation of the impacts various planning strategies.
  • Works closely with planning and accounting team to help enable accurate end-to-end tax reporting for M&A, US International planning, and other special projects & transactions (from planning > tax provision > tax return > controversy defense).
  • Researches US and international tax technical issues as they arise in the ordinary course of business or
  • Creates a project management framework around acquisition structuring, integration planning and execution for target acquisitions as well as tax planning projects.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders in the tax department and/or external advisors to create tax-optimal acquisition, integration, and restructuring workplans while communicating with cross-functional business representatives to capture their feedback and inputs.
  • Leads post-close integration efforts as the ZB Tax representative on cross-functional integration calls and initiatives acting both as ZB Tax’s primary point of contact for other functions and a central resource for ZB Tax professionals throughout the duration of ZB’s integration efforts.
  • Monitors tax structuring timeline and adjusts task priority, owners, and/or next steps based on updates to the project plan including preparing centralized communications to key stakeholders.
  • Facilitates recurring project status reports including escalation of risks, issues, and/or roadblocks to the project leads.
  • Assists in other areas relating to the income tax function including projects to improve processes and effectiveness of current work flows and act as a project manager for such initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or organizational studies is strongly preferred. Graduate-level degree or project management certification is preferred.
  • 6 + years of finance, accounting, and/or project management experience preferred, with at least 2 years of experience is required. Integration, transaction, and/or M&A tax or project management experience is preferred.

Travel Expectations

  • Up to 10%

Expected Compensation: $131,520 - $145,000 plus bonus
