The Opportunity
The Vice President, US Domestic Strategic Growth Leader (Health), is a strategic leadership position within the U.S Domestic Division. In this multi-faceted role, responsibilities and accountabilities are focused on client engagement, white space portfolio strategy, and sales growth. Reporting to the SVP of U.S Domestic, the Vice President, Strategic Growth (Health) will partner and collaborate with technical service delivery lines and business development to position and sell client centered innovative solutions in strategic client areas.
This position is strategic partner and trusted advisor to new client accounts in federal and state government agencies (including National Institutes of Health and Food and Drug Administration). The Vice President, is focused on creating and executing the white space growth strategy that will develop into new client relationships, driving increased sales, and informing and influencing our technical capability services and offerings roadmap. Through their external engagement, they will translate client priorities into the portfolio strategy and execution plans as well as leverage Abt’s core capabilities in Research Monitoring & Evaluation, Technical Assistance and Implementation, Digital and Data Services and Equity to meet client needs.
Core Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of growth and technical experts and provides direction and support in the development of annual account plans and informs solution roadmaps geared towards achieving and exceeding financial and mission objectives centered around client priorities.
- Conducts business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives
- Leverages matrixed capabilities to maximize client satisfaction and business growth
- Drives growth – in collaboration with the Division, Department and Capability resources; delivering a strong book-to-bill, re-compete wins, and YoY new business growth.
- Reviews organizational capabilities, and development/execution of strategies, to improve the competitiveness of the portfolio through actions such as professional growth & development, strategic hiring, and strategic partnering
- Ensures alignment with Division and Company strategy and objectives.
- Develops a short- and long-term growth strategy with related tactical execution plans that will drive top line and bottom-line growth for the portfolio.
- Builds and manages an effective and efficient team focused on client relationship development.
- Engages and leverages the technical services delivery lines to bring our capabilities to new clients.
- Fosters an environment to elevate and support Abt’s, Vision, Mission, Values and Culture and Strategic Priorities.
- Models and reinforces throughout the portfolio Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging throughout the employee lifecycle.

- Is proactive in coaching and developing emerging talent and others, and ensures their team does the same.
What We Value:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in client relationship management in government contracting
- Demonstrated experience working with clients in the National Institutes of Health, and Food & Drug Administration, or Department of Homeland Security
- History of building and maintaining successful relationships internally and externally.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals for a mid to large size client account.
- Deep familiarity with how the US federal government conducts business, along with experience throughout the federal sales cycle to position, win, and grow business
- Outstanding domain knowledge in one or more of the following: Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation; Technical Assistance and Implementation; Digital and Data Services; or Equity
- Skilled in professional/career development of all members of your team.
- Bachelor’s Degree + Fifteen years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or PhD + Ten years of relevant experience
- US work authorization is required without continued visa sponsorship

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $213,000 to $300,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
