Job Summary

Using industry standard testing tools and practices, this position will be responsible for ensuring internal and external applications and products meet customer specifications. Works with other members of the Testing team to develop and implement quality assurance & testing standards and measures within the area of responsibility. Testing may include custom in house development as well as vendor software products/upgrades. Testing may also include both manual and automation strategies. Leads less senior resources in the application of quality assurance for software applications. Validates IT processes in order to maximize the benefit of business investments delivering new applications or solutions.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation
  • 5 years of experience in quality assurance/software testing or related field
  • Experience with automated test tools like TOSCA and Selenium
  • Experience developing and documenting test cases in ALM or JIRA
  • Experience establishing quality assurance measures and testing standards
  • Familiar with Agile project methodology
  • 1+ years’ experience automating Web based applications and APIs with TOSCA
  • 3+ years’ experience working with Jenkins and CI CD tools
  • 3+ years’ experience testing ETL, writing SQL statement and executing them

Preferred

  • 7+ years’ of experience in quality assurance / software testing or related field
  • Experience in the Health Care Industry
  • Experience developing and documenting test strategies
  • Experience with AngularJS and Java languages

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and establishes quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications/products, and enhancements to existing applications throughout the development/product lifecycle.
  • Reviews current automation testing capabilities and practices. Develops new automation strategies, contributing to an increase in automation test coverage.
  • Mentors other testing resources in best practices.
  • Analyzes project documentation and technical specifications as a basis for testing documentation and product/project understanding.
  • Collaborates with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
  • Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing existing and potential trouble areas/ software defects in IT systems and projects across the organization.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives within the IT organization.
  • Liaises with vendors and suppliers in assessing applications and/or systems and ensuring they meet customer requirements.
  • Defines test objectives, writes test plans and test cases, and develops test scripts.
  • Executes manual and automated test scripts.
  • Coordinates activities for defect tracking and resolution.
  • Analyzes performance/stress testing results.
  • Coordinates testing resources across multiple projects, provide assistance for junior team members.
  • Provides ongoing communication with leadership and training staff to ensure effective and efficient use of applications systems.
  • Communicates test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project managers.
  • Creates User Stories and Task Flows.
  • Participates in Agile Scrum sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
