Summary of Job Duties:
The UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute (WPRCI) mobile mammography program has been in place for more than 10 years. WPRCI is committed to decreasing breast cancer-related illness, disability and death in Arkansas through screening and early detection. The focus is on improving cancer screenings and education around the state with particular attention to our rural underserved counties. This position requires travel with multiple overnight stays each month. Sometimes trip schedules include departures/arrivals after hours or on weekends, e.g., departure on a Sunday afternoon or return on a Friday evening.
This position’s primary function is to drive the MammoVan to and from events around the state and for any other issues related to maintenance, repairs, or other functions. Additionally, this position will greet patients and register them as they arrive for their appointments at events around the state. When not out for events, this position will provide administrative support for the other technical and staff in the MammoVan office.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School plus Five (5) years of relevant administrative/programmatic experience in a healthcare system OR Two (2) years of post-secondary education and Two (2) years of administrative/programmatic experience in a healthcare system;
Held a valid AR CDL for 5 years;
2 years of professional driving experience
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Responsible to be the primary driver to events for the MammoVans.
Responsible for facilitating the maintenance and repairs for all vans.
Operate the vehicle in a safe manner and will maintain a valid commercial driver’s license.
Routinely inspect the vehicle to assess for any operating risks or required maintenance.
Report any issues to the Supervisor.
Greet patients as they arrive for their scheduled appointments,
Perform any required registration functions, and
Assist the staff and patients as needed.
May perform other duties as assigned, including supporting other staff in the office when the van is not out for an event.
