The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Your background and qualifications will be evaluated against the skills and experiences required for the position and may be filled as:

  • Assistant Director: $103,400 to $188,800
  • Director: $116,700 to $216,100

USRM Property & Specialty (P&S) Product is hiring for a position on the External Solutions & Insights team. This role will play a pivotal part in driving P&S product decisions by serving as the organization’s owner of competitive intelligence. This position will collaborate across functional teams and with the broader competitive intelligence community to develop a deep understanding of the competitor landscape that drives P&S product strategy.

This role will conduct independent research and surface learnings from other competitive intelligence teams to develop a thorough understanding of carrier strategies,

interpretation of results, and evaluation of key strengths and differentiators. This position will develop the strategic implications of competitive intelligence research, providing

a holistic perspective that informs key actions. This role will have regular presentation opportunities and will communicate directly with the P&S Product leadership team.

Key Responsibilities Of This Role Include

  • Conduct independent research, aggregate learnings from other comp intel teams, and coordinate with functional experts to develop findings that inform P&S product portfolio actions
  • Coordinate across stakeholders to understand competitor research needs, and build and deliver on project plans to address these needs
  • Consistently evaluate competitor set to understand USRM vs. competitor advantages and opportunities, and changes to the industry landscape
  • Develop and maintain a cross-functional comp intel infrastructure, including a system to aggregate research in a way that is accessible to other teams and surface findings to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Ideate themes of research
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly updates to leadership team
  • Communicate with leadership team on research questions
  • Review, prioritize, and execute ad hoc research initiatives
  • Guide analyst research work within the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 6 years, typically 8 years or more of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g. SAS, Access)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field, preferred
  • Minimum 6 years relevant work experience, typically 8 years
  • Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g, SAS, Emblem)
  • Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision making, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience managing projects preferred
