Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (PST)

Position Overview:

The Senior Bookkeeper will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting. This position requires strong expertise in QuickBooks Online and experience with industry-specific accounting for real estate, property management, and construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to financial management and support decision-making with detailed analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting:
    • Maintain accurate and complete financial records in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
    • Process invoices, and payments, and perform bank reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial postings.
  • Industry-Specific Accounting:
    • Oversee financial aspects of real estate, property management, and construction projects, focusing on job costing, project profitability, and cost allocation.
    • Track revenue, expenses, and budgets for each property and project, offering insights and recommendations to management.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management, ownership, and external auditors.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or improvements.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement best practices for accounting processes and workflows.
    • Optimize the use of QuickBooks Online and integrate it with other systems as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with Appfolio, GSuite, and Monday.
