Job description

 
Basic Function

Responsible for the use and deployment of analytical tools for asset and process unit monitoring to support the refineries in early failure identification.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Reviews and validates potential failures identified by analytical tools.
  • Reviews recent failures to develop potential analytical solutions.
  • Collaborates with multiple groups to foster an adoption of analytical tools.
  • Aids in the development of standardize work processes for analytical tools
  • Supports the refineries in adoption of proactive monitoring solutions and work processes.
  • Support reliability initiatives and investigations as needed.
  • Develop templates, standard tools, and best practices for fleetwide applications
  • Provides progress, learnings, and achievements cross-fleet
  • Managing contractors and vendors associated with technology deployments
  • Be a self-starter and prioritize work effectively
  • Works on-site regularly, 1 week per month expected, special projects may require more travel

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in the Refining Industry with ability to understand oil flows and process unit technology. Two years’ experience in using analytical tools for monitoring applications.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Knowledge around the use of process data historians, Knowledge around multiple refinery process unit technologies, OSI PI Asset Framework or equivalent experience, Experience in delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML Software.

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a four-year degree is required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Power BI or Tableau reporting, Analytical Tools (Seeq, PI Asset Framework), Python coding.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May act as team leader during special projects, and may manage contractors and vendors

Work Conditions

Home-based with up to 25% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed.

 

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require sitting, talking, or hearing, making precise hand and finger movements, making visual inspections, and perceiving color differences. Job conditions may require standing, walking, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, lifting, and/or carrying up to 25 lbs.
