Job description

This is a remote position.


Job Highlights:
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Location: Permanent remote position
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Portland, OR Time
  • Client Timezone: Portland, OR

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Enter and maintain data from state tracking systems into QuickBooks with precision.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency as the company grows.
  • Supervise and manage outsourced data entry staff as required.
  • Cross-train in various accounting functions to support team versatility.
  • Perform general accounting tasks to uphold accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and verify the accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare cash forecasts and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Process bill payments and maintain organized receipt documentation.
  • Generate, analyze, and present profit and loss reports for management review.
  • Create and maintain detailed expense reports for transparency.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with management to update and report on financial performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and accuracy in reporting.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a bookkeeping certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, particularly in U.S. accounting practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in managing bookkeeping tasks as a sole contributor or within a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation processes, and U.S. taxation.
  • Capable of performing clean-up tasks to ensure accurate financial records.
