Lead R&D Test Engineer

What's the role?:

As a Lead R&D Test Engineer, you will be contributing to the Research & Development of the HERE Navigation Assistant.

HERE Navigation Assistant is an AI-based service that leverages location intelligence and multi-LLM capabilities to enable use of natural human language to formulate complex location related queries and receive precise results.

Your role encompasses the following responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy tailored to the AI-based Navigation Assistant, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
• Establish quality benchmarks, testing protocols, and success criteria to measure the performance and accuracy of AI-driven navigation features
• Design and oversee the execution of test plans, including functional, regression, performance, usability, and security testing
• Ensure the robustness of the AI models by devising specialized test cases that challenge the system’s decision-making and adaptability under various conditions
• Collaborate closely with software architects, software engineers and product manager to ensure that quality considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in design and requirement reviews, offering insights from a QA perspective to influence product direction and feature development

We are looking for the persons with the following experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• Solid experience in software Quality Assurance
• Proven experience in testing AI/ML-based applications, particularly in the areas of natural language processing, computer vision, or recommendation systems
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, particularly for writing automated test scripts
• Strong knowledge of testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar, as well as AI-specific testing tools like DeepTest, AIF360, or TensorFlow Model Analysis
• Experience with AI ethics and fairness in testing AI-driven systems
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and their implications on AI systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for testing in a distributed environment
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
