Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Subject Matter Expert will support with content for the organization’s assigned line of service. This person will have an expert understanding of program operations to solution and develop content for proposals along side the designated proposal manager.
Should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, writing abilities, editing abilities, and should possess knowledge of assigned line of service and industry current and best practices.
The SME must have operational experience related to emergency response, including rapid deployment, and shelter operations.
Qualifications
Essential Responsibilities:
- Participation in program team meetings and other program activities to maintain informed on program operations.
- Participation in program related trainings to stay informed on current and best practices.
- Participate in business development efforts with the Development team, providing technical and writing assistance on proposals, and/or developing project concepts for proactive business development.
- Provide independently prepared documents.
- Review solicitations and help solution responses in collaboration with Business Development and Program Operations, based on operational knowledge of the work.
- Participate in team strategy planning to advance the goals of the division.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or other social or human services fields.
EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years’ experience working with non-profit emergency response-based program operations.
- Experience in emergency response and knowledge of factors that increase the needs of individuals in emergency crisis, i.e., climate disasters, public health emergencies.
- Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of trauma informed care.
- Strong organization and project management skills.
- Highly proficient in emergency response techniques and operational flow.
- Strong computer skills, including experience maintaining and manipulating a database. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and relevant software.
- Working knowledge of FEMA operational flow as well as operating a 24/7 shelter.
- Working knowledge of rapid deployment techniques and best practices.
- Prefer emergency response and rapid deployment operational background.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
