Skeleton's Commercial department is looking for a driven and experienced
Application Engineer – Data Centers (m/f/x)
to develop an in-depth understanding of Skeleton Technologies‘ products from cell to system level, and convert them into economically viable solutions for our customers.

As the Application Engineer, it will be your main responsibility to support our Sales Managers in pre-sale activities. You will also work out solutions and pricing in cooperation with the development and tender teams for specific applications.
Your responsibility areas:
- Work closely with customers to study their applications’ requirements and develop the value proposition.
- Identify new opportunities for energy and cost savings in new and existing applications that can benefit from ultracapacitor and high-power battery energy storage.
- Develop in-depth calculations and materials of the applications where our products provide energy, cost savings, and increased performance to our customers.
- Present your designed solution to the customer articulating its technical and business value.
- Support during the offer process and elaborate on technical specifications.
- Collects inputs from customers and proposes new product ideas and requirements to expand Skeleton Technologies’ product portfolio.
Requirements
- Passion for energy storage solutions development.
- A detailed understanding of the key technologies involved in the energy sector, and the ability to see what drives decision-making.
- Necessary knowledge to develop technical concepts for turnkey energy storage projects based on customer requirements.
- The ability to create clear and professional solutions and materials, and excellent people skills to present them internally and to customers to support sales and business development.
- Profound electrical engineering skills to understand system requirements and architectures.
- Fluency in English and a good command of German or any other major language is a big plus.
- The ability to travel.
You'll make an especially good fit if you have:
- At least 2-3 years of experience with data centers, with a focus on power and energy infrastructures.
- Experience with US customers with an in-depth understanding of the energy markets.
- Effective communication and sales skills, and the ability to deal with engineers, procurement, and C-level people alike.
