Role Description:
As an Entertainment Editor, you will lead the creation and strategy of our entertainment content, focusing on streaming services, series, movies, and related subjects. You’ll produce compelling features, listicles, definitions, and guides optimized for search engines, leveraging your industry knowledge and connections to stay ahead of trends and engage our growing audience.
This hands-on role includes writing, editing, and guiding the direction of our entertainment section. We’re looking for a skilled editor with advanced SEO expertise, a passion for creating engaging, well-researched content—and, of course, a love for binge-watching Netflix.
Core Tasks:
Research, write, commission, and edit high-quality entertainment articles with a strong focus on SEO. Topics will include movies, TV shows, celebrities, industry trends, and other relevant subjects.
Develop content strategies to drive organic growth and align with SEO best practices.
Use SEO tools and analytics to improve article rankings, including keyword research, meta description optimization, and trend analysis.
Recruit and manage freelance writers, building a skilled, reliable team.
Implement editorial standards to ensure content quality, consistency, and adherence to our brand voice and guidelines.
Build and maintain industry connections to enhance content authority, gain insights on trends, and secure interviews or exclusive information as needed.
Keep up-to-date with entertainment industry developments and identify timely and relevant topics that will resonate with our audience.
Track content performance through analytics tools to refine strategy, improve traffic, and maximize engagement.
Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure alignment with overall content strategy and maximize content reach
Essential Requirements
Must be based in a European time zone (GMT - GMT +3).
3+ years of proven experience in entertainment media writing and editing.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong understanding of on-page SEO and best practices.
Proficient in using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and others.
Strong network within the entertainment industry, including contacts with publicists, studios, and other media outlets.
In-depth knowledge of the entertainment industry, including current trends, major players, and upcoming releases.
Ability to identify and develop engaging and analytical content topics.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
