Templeton Pluralism Fellowship

FT/PT/TEMP: PART-TIME

HOURS: (20-29 HOURS)

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: Director of the Mouw Institute for Faith and Public Life

LOCATION: Hybrid: Remote + Travel

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The Mouw Institute of Faith and Public Life is seeking a part-time program manager for the Templeton Pluralism Fellowship, which is directed by Dr. Matthew Kaemingk and Dr. Shadi Hamid. The Templeton Pluralism Fellowship is a multifaith research community of scholars consisting of six Muslims and six Christians researching religion, politics, and the future of democratic life. The program manager for the fellowship will work with the directors to manage the program’s day-to-day activities including travel, communications, events, and operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Program Management
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Templeton Pluralism Fellows
      • Meet regularly with the directors to discuss the overall development, design, and execution of the fellows program.
      • Manage program logistics, communications, and marketing
      • Maintain program calendar and curriculum
      • Maintain and update program website
      • Interact regularly with and support the twelve research fellows and guest speakers.
      • Keep the directors updated on program action items, timelines, and priorities.
    • Support the production and development of the podcast “Zealots at the Gate”
      • Schedule and coordinate interviews and episodes
  • Research Assistance
    • Provide research assistance to Dr. Shadi Hamid and Dr. Matthew Kaemingk.
  • Event Planning
    • Manage the planning and execution of domestic and international fellows gatherings.
    • Coordinate travel logistics related to fellows gatherings
  • Support the broader initiatives of the Mouw Institute.
    • As needed and as time permits, provide logistical support to the other initiatives and events for the Mouw Institute for Faith and Public Life.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • MA in theology, religious studies, or social sciences is strongly preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • The capacity to work efficiently and proactively
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience in a multifaith and multicultural environment is required 
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize a range of support responsibilities.
  • Experience in travel planning is preferred.
  • Good to advanced knowledge of Mac platforms, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google office, Zoom apps required.
  • As this is a new program, we are looking for someone who is creative, adaptable, and entrepreneurial.

 

ADDITIONAL REMARKS

  • Must be willing to abide by Fuller’s Community Standards
  • This is a Hybrid position (Remote + Travel). This position will be part of a team that is working remotely and dispersed across the country. While almost completely remote, this position will need to travel at least twice a year, once domestically and once internationally, for a total of 10 days.
  • This position is available for remote work within the United States. Subject to payroll state approval by Fuller Theological Seminary
  • This is a grant-funded position which may be time-limited and/or contingent upon sufficient funding. In the event the grant is discontinued, the position may be eliminated.

PAY SCALE

  • Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour USD
