Job description

Our client is a dynamic brand seeking a meticulous and creative Video Editor to bring influencer-led video content to life. The Video Editor will work on creating multiple video versions that best showcase the product and resonate with the target audience.

The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, a strong understanding of video editing best practices, and the ability to evaluate creative elements like voiceover and imagery to produce high-quality, engaging content.

Location: Fully remote (Work from home), 9 AM - 6 PM EST

Key Responsibilities:

  • Voiceover & Video Review: Listen to all voiceover options from influencers and evaluate based on verbal/audio delivery quality. Pair voiceovers with corresponding videos where the influencer’s expression and delivery are strong.

  • Content Selection: Review all available video clips and static images to select the best options that highlight the product’s key features. Consider images for additional placement to enhance the video’s appeal and effectiveness.

  • Video Versions & Hook Strategy: Create a minimum of 3 versions of each video, each with different hooks (first 3-8 seconds) to optimize viewer engagement. Develop versions of varying lengths and focal points based on available content and strategic recommendations.

  • Voiceover Transcription & Text Styling: Transcribe voiceover content and apply bolding or differentiated text styling to emphasize keywords or phrases. Audit spelling and consider additional text treatments or animations for highlighting features like "Machine Washable."

  • Text Placement: Position text within safe zones, ensuring that it doesn’t obstruct focal points, such as the product or the speaker’s face.

  • Product Optimization: Edit the video to ensure the product looks polished and appealing. Make minor adjustments to styling as necessary (e.g., smooth covers, align seams, remove creases).

  • Music Selection & Balancing: Select appropriate background music and adjust volume levels for balance with the voiceover to create a cohesive audio experience.

  • Meta Safe Zones Compliance: Ensure all videos adhere to Meta safe zone guidelines for different size formats, guaranteeing optimal viewing across all platforms.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Engaging Content: Production of high-quality, engaging videos that successfully showcase the product and maintain viewer interest.

  • Polished Product Presentation: Video edits that ensure the product looks its best, with attention to detail in styling, alignment, and overall presentation.

  • Multiple Effective Video Versions: Creation of several video variations, each with different hooks and angles, to maximize testing and performance potential.

  • Compliance with Platform Standards: Adherence to Meta’s safe zone guidelines, ensuring videos are optimized for all platform requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio of engaging, polished video content.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar), with experience in text styling and on-screen graphics.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on fine-tuning visual details to ensure the product looks polished and visually appealing.

  • Audio & Visual Balancing: Understanding of music and voiceover balancing to create seamless audio experiences.

  • Creative & Strategic: Ability to strategize different video versions and hooks, creatively adapting content for maximum viewer engagement.

  • Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with Meta’s safe zone requirements and other social media video standards.
