OVERVIEW

This position is a remote role.     

Specifically, as a Senior SBA Loan Closer you will:

  • Primary functions will encompass processing new SBA loans from approval to closing, with primary responsibility in the completion and accuracy of the loan file. The Senior Loan Closer is expected to handle closing complex SBA commercial loan transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Senior Loan Closer works directly with Borrower to collect all closing related documents and satisfy credit requirements. 
  • Reviews loan file documentation for compliance with SBA and Bank policies and resolves issues as they arise, addressing new critical information to the appropriate team members as file progresses though closing stage. 

Loan Processing

  • Creates Borrower loan closing checklist that aligns with credit approval and circulates to client each week.
  •  Organizes Borrower kickoff call to discuss closing process and review closing checklist.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of loan files, including the collection of due diligence items and the preparation of SBA Form 1919, SBA Form 159, CIP documents and Certification of Beneficial Ownership.  
  • Reviews all pertinent information required to document loans and inputs information into the loan origination systems (Etran Origination and Servicing and SalesForce).
  • Verifies Attorney prepared loan documentation for accuracy to finalize for loan closing. 
  • Disburses loan proceeds in accordance with Funding Project Spreadsheet and SBA Loan Approval. 
  • Reviews file immediately after closing to ensure that all documents are properly executed and prepares accurate loan package for submission to the bank’s loan operations department.

Communication

  • Clearly communicates the Bank’s closing requirements to Borrower and involves the appropriate parties when communicating changes during the closing process.
  • Escalate issues that arise during closing process and communicate to the appropriate parties both internally and externally.
  • Effectively manages the communication between all required parties through closing process including Borrower, Attorneys, Credit Team, Sales Team, Construction Team and Compliance Team.
  • Sends on due diligence items as required in credit closing conditions to Credit Team, Compliance Team, Construction Specialist and SBA Closing Manager for final approval.

The successful candidate should have:

  • 3+ years specific SBA experience in a heavy-volume closing department.
  • 1+ year of SBA loan closing responsibilities 
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
