A new concept from The Indigo Road Hospitality Group, Maru celebrates Nikkei cuisine in Tampa's Bayshore neighborhood. On the Bayshore Gardens rooftop, Maru will offer a unique dining experience that blends the rich flavors of Japan with the bold ingredients of Peru through seasonal small plates, ceviches, hand rolls, and more. Guests can sip on handcrafted cocktails inspired by the merging of the Japanese Peruvian cuisine, or choose from an expansive list of sparkling wines and champagne, while enjoying sweeping views of both the city and the bay.


NOW HIRING. RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER

If you are a successful Restaurant General Manager you will have 6+ years experience managing high-volume restaurants (200 - 300 covers) in an upscale food focused environment, this could be for you! We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and engaging the local community to procure the highest quality product to create unforgettable dishes and memorable experiences.


As the General Manager you encourage staff development and promote a positive experience for staff and guests to achieve P&L goals. You’ll look over all aspects of the concept including problem resolution and effective communication to get the job done.

The GM (General Manager) for Maru, is an ambassador for IRHG and authentically embrace Internal Hospitality. You’ll look after all aspects of the property including; people, culture, communication, and operations. As an ambassador for Indigo Road you’ll authentically embrace Internal Hospitality and strive to create memorable experiences for people through food.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage the Floor: Our leaders do not consider themselves to be "Office GM's." You'll oversee, support and guide hospitality forward experiences during the busy service periods of the week.
  • Lead with Passion: Bring your unwavering passion for restaurant, F&B and hospitality to the forefront. Be a part of the volunteer and charity initiatives we support and contribute to the betterment of the community we serve.
  • Nurture Your Team: Foster staff development and create a positive atmosphere that not only motivates our team but also ensures we meet our P&L goals.
  • Enrich Your Community: Engage with local vendors, business and farms to source quality products while also educating junior team members and advocating for their growth and development. Additionally, actively participate in and support our community's volunteer efforts and charitable initiatives to make a positive impact.
  • Be the Solution: Oversee all facets of the restaurant, resolving any challenges that arise by maintaining effective communication with team-members and the community.
Requirements

Qualifications...

  • 6+ years of successful restaurant management experience in a high-volume and upscale food focused environment
  • Passionate about Internal Hospitality and embrace our core values
  • Strong problem resolution skills and can easily adjust in situations that require
  • Have exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to navigate important conversation
  • Flexibility, since your schedule may vary (days, nights, weekends, holidays) based on seasonality, covers, and hours of operation. In general, you can anticipate working 50 to 55 hours a week.
