POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications Manager will play a key role in shaping and implementing Alliant's communication strategies to enhance brand visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and support business objectives. This position requires a skilled communicator with a talent for crafting compelling messages across various channels and an ability to effectively manage media relationships. The Communications Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent, impactful communication aligned with the company’s mission and values.
STARTING SALARY: $90,000 annualized (exempt position).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Proven success in developing and executing communication strategies that drive brand awareness and audience engagement.
• Experience managing media relations, including handling media inquiries, writing press releases, and developing media outreach strategies.
SKILLS:
• Written and Verbal Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
• Media Relations: Strong media contacts and a thorough understanding of media relations best practices.

- Communication Strategy Development & Execution
- Develop and implement communication strategies to support business objectives, enhance brand reputation, and engage key audiences.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with company values across all communication materials.
- Media Relations & Public Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to increase brand visibility.
- Manage media inquiries, craft press releases, and develop outreach strategies to generate positive media coverage.
- Content Creation & Management
- Write, edit, and oversee the production of various content types, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and reflective of the company’s brand voice and messaging.
- Internal Communications Support
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to develop and execute internal communication initiatives that keep employees informed and engaged.
- Support the creation of internal newsletters, announcements, and other employee-focused communications.
- Digital and Social Media Management
- Manage the company’s social media channels, including content creation, posting, and monitoring engagement.
- Develop and execute social media strategies that amplify key messages, drive engagement, and align with company goals.
- Crisis Communication
- Support the development and implementation of crisis communication plans, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to protect the company’s reputation.
- Monitor public sentiment and advise on appropriate communication strategies during crises.
- Measurement and Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report on communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing communication efforts based on data and performance indicators.

CONTACT RESPONSIBILITY:
Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive general direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position will work closely with colleagues in multiple departments.
External: Interacts with outside vendors, such as advertising, digital and PR agencies, printers, graphic designers, and copywriters to ensure the successful and accurate execution of promotional strategies.

Travel: May require occasional travel to Alliant International University campus locations.
